Swansea face Watford at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday afternoon, in the sixth round of games in the Premier League.

The Swans come into this match on the back of a 2-0 win against Reading, an excellent result in the Carabao Cup.

Alfie Mawson opened the scoring for Swansea early in the second half (52), with the defender turning home Renato Sanches' corner.

Jordan Ayew (83) doubled the scoreline with seven minutes remaining, ensuring a win for Paul Clement's side.

Swansea had a poor campaign last season, they have fared slightly better this season but have found it tough.

They have had a mixed start to this season, with one win, two draws and two defeats from their opening five matches.

The Swans find themselves in 14th place in the Premier League, a solid enough start for Clement's men.

They face a tough yet winnable fixture in the form of Watford, who were hammered by Manchester City in their last game.

Gabriel de Jesus made it 3-0 to Manchester City (37), with the young Brazillian also making his mark at City.

Nicolas Otamendi scored his first goal of the season (63), heading home City's fourth goal of the afternoon.

Raheem Sterling made it 6-0 from the penalty spot (89), after he was brought down by Christian Kabasele.

It was a poor performance from Marco Silva's side, with that their first defeat of the new season.

Mixed Start

It's been a mixed start for Watford, with the exception of the Manchester City game Silva has had an impressive start.

They were unlucky that Manchester City visited Vicarage Road in such devastating form, they are in excellent form.

Watford have taken eight points from their opening games and find themselves in 11th place.

Providing they can bounce back immediately they will fancy a return to winning ways, with Swansea struggling this season.

 

Hornets Underdogs

Watford come into this match as underdogs, with Swansea's home advantage informing the odds.

Marco Silva will be looking for his side to recover from that heavy defeat at the first time of asking.

Watford will be looking to make it successive wins against Swansea.
