Usherette is so highly thought of by her trainer Andre Fabre, despite not yet having won a group 1 race, he believes she has the same or better ability than that of her stablemate Tepin. Today she runs in the Tattersalls 250th Year Falmouth Stakes running at 4.15 at Newmarket. Usherette is owned by Godolphin and has won six of her seven starts, the last being the Duke of Cambridge Stakes, where she won in convincing style. The going has been changed at Newmarket from good, to good to firm this morning, there may be some showers but it is expected to stay mainly dry. This should suit Usherette and if she wins this will be Fabre’s first win of The Falmouth Stakes. Odds on Usherette this morning are 8/11 with William Hill.

Second favourite today is David O’Meara’s Amazing Maria, she was last year’s winner so is a threat to Usherette. Out of her last 15 races she has just five wins, O’Meara will be hoping to pick her back up to winning ways today on a course she has previously done well on. Odds on Amazing Maria are 6/1 with Ladbrokes today.

The main threat to both the horses is the winning combination of Aidan O’Brien and Ryan Moore, Ryan is riding Alice Springs today, every week I write about a race that features this winning trainer/ jockey combination and every week they seem to get better and better. Alice Springs came third on her last outing at Royal Ascot a little over three weeks ago, so she has had time to rest up for this race. One thing is for sure O’Brien knows where to place his horses, so this is not one you would bet against. Odds today on Alice Springs are 6/1 with Bet365.

There is plenty of racing around today, watch out for how the weather affects the horses form, York has had rain and the going there has changed this morning.  I will be back tomorrow with the feature race of the day, where Air Force Blue, is out ready to wow the public again in another exciting day in the racing calendar.

Good Luck today.
